El Pescador
El Pescador is a tropical beach resort steeped in angling history and culture. Another way to think about El Pescador is that it is a fly fishing lodge, a diving lodge, a family resort, a romantic getaway, and a wedding destination all rolled into one.
- Large, migratory tarpon
- Permit country
- Diving mecca
- Beachside accommodations overlooking the barrier reef
Fishing
El Pescador’s central location offers angling guests a host of flats and areas for fishing. English speaking guides use exceptionally comfortable pangas to pole and fish the hundreds of acres of flats. You'll encounter plenty of variety to fish and you'll do it with ease.Bonefish roam in large schools and range in the 2-5 pound range with larger singles always a possibility.
Belize is noted for its permit fishing. If you are seeking permit, El Pescador will prove to be a great resource. Ranging from 4 to 30 lbs, permit will be found tailing or cruising in large schools. If you've never caught a permit, the large schools offer you a good chance at breaking the ice. They are agressive and battle each other for your fly. Smaller groups tend to be more difficult to catch, but are larger in size. The challenge is real.
Tarpon can be fished to year round in Belize. During the summer months, when the large migratory tarpon move through, triple digit tarpon can be sight fished to on Savannah Flats. The lodge record at El Pescador exceeds 200 lbs.
Angler’s who are ready for more fishing at the end of the day can fish to large bonefish cruising the flats in front of the lodge. Take a kayak into the lagoons behind the lodge for more after hours adventures.
Accommodations

El Pescador also has 6 private villas that are 2 story, 3 bedroom, 3 bath homes. Each villa is designed in a lock-off style so that individual rooms can remain private, or be opened up to accommodate groups and families. The upstairs room of each villa has a large front deck with panoramic views of the beach, ocean and reef. A collection of patio furniture and a hammock invite you to enjoy the ocean breezes. The full living room and kitchen inside provide relaxing comfort. Villa guests have access to the main lodge pool, or 2 private salt water pools.
The grounds at El Pescador are comfortable and inviting. Hammocks and palapas decorate the beach alongside the volleyball court. The majority of lodge socializing takes place on the wood deck between the pool, bar and central lodge dining room.
Most dinners are served outside in the warm tropical breeze The bar nearby offers pool, darts, and local cocktails for after hours socializing. There is weight room, gift shop, internet, bicycles, sea kayaks, and massage services all on the premises.
The fun town of San Pedro is a short water taxi, golf cart, or bike ride away. There are more restaurants, night clubs and shopping for the whole family or group.
