PG, as it's locally known, is the largest town in southern Belize . Capitol of the Toledo District, the 3,500 inhabitants are mostly English speaking Garifuna and East Indian. Numerous Maya Ruins indicate that for hundreds of years Belize was heavily populated by around one million Maya, whose relatively advanced civilization reached its height between AD. 250 and 900. Eventually the Maya civilization declined leaving behind a small population which still exists in Belize, predominantly in Toledo, the southernmost district. Today, you will find that PG is populated by a healthy population of permit.

The Sea Front Inn is built on the edge of the Caribbean Sea at the northern end of a quaint town called Punta Gorda. Family built and operated, they offer eleven rooms and six apartment units for the visitor to this tropical paradise that the proprietors call home. Guest rooms and apartments are fashioned with jungle hard woods and many special touches that coordinate with the nature theme. Some of their repeat guests enjoy specific themed rooms. |
